Chemistry is all around us in life and we will be covering its basic principles so that you can apply them to the phenomena you observe every day.  On this site, you will be able to access handouts, powerpoints, review sheets, and homework assignments, as well as important announcements and tips for doing well in chemistry (and school in general).  Please bookmark and visit often, and subscribe to the RSS feed on the announcement page!

Schedule and Contact Information

My door is always open after school for any student who needs help, but if you need to find me during the day, my schedule of classes and rooms can be found to the right.  Email is my primary method of contact; parents and students are welcome to contact me any time at Jessica_Rosenberg@hcpss.org.  You may also use the "Contact Mrs. Rosenberg" page in the left menu.

About the Instructor

I was born in Indonesia, grew up in Seattle, and spent most of my life planning to go to medical school.  I am a full diploma graduate of the IB program and I attended the University of Washington for three years, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, certified by the American Chemical Society, as well as a minor in mathematics.  I then took a year off to complete my medical school applications and moved to Manhattan, where I decided to teach chemistry at a small school in the Bronx in order to help pay the rent.  I fell in love with teaching and subsequently earned a Master's degree in chemistry education from Hunter College in 2010.

Prior to teaching, I was a professional portrait and wedding photographer with clients around the country, and I dabbled in dyeing and selling yarn (I also knit!).  This is my sixth year at Mount Hebron High School.
